Planer Thicknesser blades - unusual set-up situation... ?

I also have a Lurem C 210B, I have also struggled to find the optimum height for the planner blades, the clamps that hold the blades in position have seemingly been exercised to destruction by others trying to do the same, as some of the locking bolts had stripped, I did replace them, however...

    Lurem c210B

They are not a nipple as such, its a small sprung ball in the middle of a flat press fit ring, as I mention above, I used an adapter on my grease gun that has a pointed end, and can be pushed into the greasing point opening, one word of warning, (its not easy to judge) but don't over grease, as...

    Lurem c210B

I had the same problem, and having bought it from a friend all in parts without a manual, FIRSTLY HAVE YOU GOOGLED your machine to see what is available, that's where I acquired some drawings, as for grease points you will need a grease gun with a selection of attachments, a pointed one is a...

    Smallish router

Having read some of the reviews re the Trend T4 router, I am now more unsure than when I started looking.. some say its great whilst other say its rubbish, basically I am looking for one that is easy to use cutting out hinges and door furniture etc, the trouble I find is seeing the cutter clearly...

    Gas pipe couplings.

Thank you Steve and everyone else, of course I would not undertake any action that I was unsure of, hence my original question, having worked with compressed air fittings at all pressures, I am not stupid, however I find it frustrating that I have to rely on (sadly) someone who has never dealt...

    Gas pipe couplings.

Thanks for your reply Jason, I appreciate the fact that gas can cause explosions etc, the pipe in question was installed by the Gas Board when a new meter was fitted, it could be sleeved but does not look like it, I will check again. Sadly my experience with so called Gas experts Corgi/Gas Safe...

    Gas pipe couplings.

I posed the question to find an answer, Illegal !..... I am somewhat surprised that a joint that can hold back some 40+ odd psi water pressure would fail on just 0.18 psi gas pressure!!!!

    Gas pipe couplings.

I know this question will raise a few tut tuts from all those who are Gas Safe candidates, are compression joints frowned on when it comes to fittings on gas pipes, I note that generally that copper end fed joints are used, obviously cheaper, however I have a situation where I am having to join...

    New vac, it's a question of suckage. . . . . . . . . .

While folk discuss air flow ,velocity and vortex, etc... spare a thought for the machine that sends all these messages down the wire to this page, The Computer, probably more neglected than some workshop equipment, (or dare I say, even a few wives!) therefore please don't forget that some of the...

Tower 2 way valve switch & circuit board

Thanks for advice so far, the circuit board has a lovely burn in it, I could see about putting in a new switch but the board is a bit fragile around the switch area due to the burn hole, I thought I could smell something but I thought it was the WD40 burning off!

Tower 2 way valve switch & circuit board

Its not the actuator that's the problem, that works ok, its the micro switch unit and circuit board that's the problem...

Tower 2 way valve switch & circuit board

Can anyone help please.. I have a Tower two port valve model MV2-22C I have two fitted in my boiler system, they need a bit of lubrication once in a blue moon, sadly this time I over did it with the WD40 and it got into the micro switch unit (or washed something in to it) and the switch and the...

    The good, the bad, the...

The Monty Python team could not have written a better sketch than this thread, argument ..what argument!! I suppose other than counting the cost of the electricity and phone bill, this is just as good a medium to fire off a few shots for those who are fed up with the latest news, and need to...

    New vac, it's a question of suckage. . . . . . . . . .

What a fascinating topic, having just used Hetty to vacuum the stairs I read this item, so I thought let put it to the test re loss of suction via the hose, reducing the hole in Hetty by use of the centre of one of my circular saw blades, ( being the exact size of the hose input at the working...

    Kitchen work top jig.

Roger many thanks for the advice, I am normally ok with woodworking having served (many years ago) an apprenticeship as a church organ builder, however from the (over) assured youth that I once was, I now know its now better to be aware of any pitfalls or liabilities that could occur in ones...

    Kitchen work top jig.

Roger thanks for the information, just one last point if I may, as this joint will be near the sink unit, I assume a good PVA waterproof glue will be sufficient in avoiding problems with de-lamination etc. Last question on the subject...honest! Ian

    Kitchen work top jig.

Thanks for the advice everyone. Question for Roger.. I have looked at the site you mentioned, I maybe am a bit dim and also never having used one of these jigs before.. Why is there angle profiles at both ends of the smaller version and only one on the larger longer version? Probably a simple...

what size single Phase motor sugestion for table saw?

I have been running one of my saw benches with a 3/4 hp 4 pole motor for years, its 10'' blade cuts up to 2 1/2 '' no problems. What's strange is most motor information for saw units recommends a 2 pole motor due to the starting load, but a saw bench has no load to start with until you start...

    Kitchen work top jig.

Can anyone please advise on a reliable kitchen work top jig that's not to expensive, looking on Ebay the prices seem so far apart for an item that is supposed to the same job, I appreciate that quality comes into the equation, but how can you really tell, until perhaps its to late! I have seen a...
