Processing some of the big turkey oak that came down in a storm a couple of years ago. Was supposed to be mainly going in the firewood store, but looking too good for that ! I can already see some bowls and plates in there ! 😁 Turkey oak does have a reputation for cracking and splitting...

Another use for leftover coppiced hazel, surprisingly comfortable, well for the first twenty minutes anyway ! :LOL:

Have been experimenting recently with making charcoal from smaller left over bits of last year's hazel coppicing. Most of the cut hazel goes for firewood if oversized, or beanpoles and stakes for the garden, but rather than put the smaller gnarly bits on the dead hedging or wildlife piles...

Lots of walnut chopping/serving/charcuterie/bread boards, well why not ! Fun to make and pleasing and nice to look at :)
