One way is hold/screw a 1x1 batten to the wall where you want the chase then run a grinder up either side of it, remove the batten and chip out plaster between the lines
The new devilbiss stainless will take almost any finish. If you can find an older gti they are great guns and what I mainly use. Fine for everything except water based.
No problem with them as lo as you clean them and replace filters when needed. I'm sure some sata fans will be along soon.
I'd go with the following.
Hard way- drill and epoxy threaded rod into the slab then fix plate down with washers and nuts
Easy way- drill through plate and into slab with a 6.5mm sds bit then put in a concrete screw/thunderbolt (they have a bunch of names) job done
Built a deck with a 10v impact before but it does labour the battery's and motor.
I currently have Bosch blue 18v and can't fault it, all running 4.0a battery's they charge quick, last long and have plenty of power.
I make a bunch of bowls and am wanting to use birch. But don't want the hassle of finding and drying timber from trees here.
It also is a great wood for the carved work I do, and trust me to find the most awkward wood to buy.
A possible long shot but does anybody know of a source for Birch plank wood? I have picked up odd bits from my local yards but most people don't seem to cut it for plank.

Yeah it's tulip wood, I imagine the flower variety may be a little floppy on the lathe. Don't have this problem with anything else just tulip seems to be the wood of the defil
After turning some tulip before and struggling with tearout I'm working on a large tulip bowl and cannot stop getting tear out. I have tried freshly sharpened gouge, a variety of cutting angles and sharp scrapers but it's still there..
It's to deep to sand out no matter how light a cut I take...
Realised it was an odd size but it's a stock insert size. The only thing that may be screwing it up is that the insert has red sorby packing and the chuck obviously has the green record colour. The guys at the shop tell me that the patriot and supernova parts are all interchangeable so took...
