    Wivamac DB801advice

Hi. I'm toying with the idea of selling my Wivamac DB801 lathe as I'm needing more space in the garage, but unsure as to pricing :dunno: I bought it here in 2015 from Redmoorphil so I know what I purchased it for back then however I'm not sure what depreciation might be at play etc. I saw one on...

Sold Dremel cordless multi tool with StewMac Precision Router Base, cutter and 35 accessories

Selling my Dremel multi tool (10.8v) with the StewMac precision router base and 35 accessories. The accessories have never been used and are as new. I've only used this for one job which was for the inlay on a jewellery box. I'm also including the router bit, which is a Trend S58/1x3mmSTC Mini...

Axminster dropping ST-635 DDS Drum Sander

Hi folks! Does anyone know anything about Axminster stopping supplying this sander at all? I've had my eye on getting one for some time now, and noticed the price for the single phase had dropped to £2500. I enquired about this with Axminster customer services and all they've said is: "We have...

Buying the ST-635 DUAL DRUM SANDER or Jet 22-44 OSC

Many thanks Acewoodturner! I'd love to pop round at some point. I'm studying at Waters and Acland just now though in Cumbria which involves a lot of weekly travel from Linlithgow, and when I return I'm given 3 young kids to look after so I don't have a lot of free time at the weekends. However...

Buying the ST-635 DUAL DRUM SANDER or Jet 22-44 OSC

Great stuff thanks. Yes they're great for that. I'm working with curly maple just now and it's very chippy on the planer / thicknesser. The sander brought it under control very quickly :D Thanks.

Buying the ST-635 DUAL DRUM SANDER or Jet 22-44 OSC

Thanks for the info Peter. Sounds good. Do you have to change the abrasive quite often in the school and if so, it is pretty straight forward? Presumably you can leave a finer grit on the back drum and just swap out the front drum paper as required? Just researching these machines myself so this...

What did you do in your workshop today ?

Still at W&A until August this year, started in September. They take you progressively through hand skill projects for the first term starting with chinese puzzles, moving on to dovetailed bookends with chamfers and mitres etc. We then tackled this wall cabinet, followed by an occasional table...

What did you do in your workshop today ?

Thought I'd post my finished hanging wall cabinet I made at Waters & Acland recently. This is made from maple and walnut and was a set project as part of the course however we had free reign over timber selection and door pulls. Really good little project for getting those hand cut dovetails...

    It's ALIVE!!!!!

Hi Adam9453 - Thanks for posting this, it's very interesting. I've managed to get an old dual bag 2hp machine, and I need a cyclone setup too. Can I just ask what the cyclone unit fits into? Is it an old container of some sort? I can't quite make out from the pic. Cheers!
