How would i achieve this with a normal piece of wood and without a router. Or can i buy a piece like this already edged?

might sound like a stupid question but if i was to rip a piece of timber down the middle when each side are uneven so that the rip is straight how do i go about it?
Any recommendations regarding mitre saws. Budget is about £150.

Just setting up my workshop and was wondering if think i need to buy a table saw?
Currently i have a circular saw and bandsaw. The only trouble is space!! Can i do alot of things on my circular saw that you could do on a table saw?

Hi, just bought a Record Power bandsaw (Thanks Mick) and was wondering about dust extraction for it.
I see that there is a 100mm dust extraction port on the machine.
Can i use my old vacuum cleaner and how do i adapt from 100mm down?

I'm looking at buying a bandsaw that as a throat depth of 300mm.
Would this be ok to cross cut timber that is 10" across. I take the throat is depth is without the fence fitted, andi was wondering you could get a straight cut with the fence?
Also another stupid question but do you always cut...

As you may know i'm new to woodworking and i'm interested in buying a 10" benchtop bandsaw, which is the only one really in my budget and space to fit my garage.
The question is if any of you own such a machine and what do you use yours for and would it be a good investment?
