While I've got this thread going... I've just been to look at a job where they'd like an alcove cupboard building ideally out of wood with a similar look of pitch pine to match their already stripped doors, what would you suggest for that?

Hmm, good point. Its a HVLP gun, exteriors doors, prefer water based just for ease of cleanup

I have a Myford ML8 with a selection chisels, faceplates and the morticing attachment for it. Currently on a fairly rubbish wooden stand and powered by a 3 phase motor, but can easily be swapped as it's belt driven. Reluctant sale, but space is valuable and I don't have enough. £200 collection...

So after watching the video posted by Housey210 I think VFD is possibly the way forward. I'm not interested in getting a 3ph suply put in, I just want to run two machines I currently own, any future purchases will be 240v single phase, simple as that. I'm not interested in future proofing...

Still making no sense to me chaps. Back to my original question - can I buy a thing to make these 2 motors work from my barns 240v supply or do they need new 240v motors?

If I swapped the motor for a single phase motor, surely it would just require a new on/off switch an do away with all the old 3ph electrics altogether? I won't be buying any more 3ph tools as my barn doesn't have 3ph and I don't plan on having it put in. So whatever route I take will purely be...
