Thanks for your replies ,
I think it was a combination of things
Brushes needed replacing and or may have cracked , I just replaced them without having a blow out or clean up , I I reckon something shorted on the actuator and then I thought I'd test it with a new blade on wood.
So shorted ...
I've just been given a DeWalt flip saw , so if you would be so kind to post any pics of the side extensions or any mods you make.
I've built a whole workstation around my old mitre saw (blew up) so looking for ideas how to extend my new flip saw .
Or any sliding jigs etc

I've just been given a DeWalt flip saw so it's nice to here theses reviews , especially after my mitre saw just gave up !
Just a shame I can't put it into position of the new workstation I built around my old mitre saw lol
My recent and first issue with my evolution mitre saw but definitely been a decent tool over the last 4 years.

I was advised if I'm running a new cable I should get at least 10 mm so that will be more than enough for my workshop tools, And if I ever needed an electric car the other side of the workshop that could just be hooked up rather than a whole new cable.

It's the power my workshop because before we had building works it turned out the power going to it was just a spur from the main house on one of the sockets rather than a complete separate circuit. So it was recommended to put 10 mm so if I was to ever get a electric car I wouldn't need to run...
