Hi I have just purchased a HC 260 planer thicknesser has anyone had issues with vibration? this machine does not appear to have done a lot of work but the previous owner did not know very much about it although he had turned the replaceable blades.
I am going to strip it down reassemble and set the blades to see how it runs.

Hi - I have one of these and have been very happy with it - no adverse vibrations. You can get problems with hard wood and blunt blades (sharpening may well fix the problem)! You're right to want to check the blades and how they're fixed. I suppose the next thing to check is the bearings. Cheers, W2S

Thanks for the information Woody2shoes - I am rebuilding at the moment and now have the blades back in and set , the vibration is a lot better as its only on the first couple of second on start up.
I beginning to think that it has never been set up properly
