This is perhaps a bit off the wall......We have a Draper WTL12 lathe and capacitor in the motor has burnt out. Needs to be replaced but because it is burnt. ..We cannot see the rating etc. Has anyone got one of these that is not broken that they could have a look and tell me. :)

Use your motor rating ( 2 pole 1/2 HP for instance) to select appropriate capacitor size from this list.

Make sure the working voltage is greater than 1.3 times the supply, (Choose 350-450 volt rating as most common & better safety margin)

Make sure that it is described as Run Rated not Start Rated.

Capacitor Size in Mfd. is not critical, they have a fairly wide manufacturing tolerance and one at 20 and low can be near one at 16 and high, (I.E. 20 or 25 Mfd. or 16 or 20 Mfd. would not be out of required ball park)
