Some time ago, my son Richard, called me into his own workshop and showed me this odd device made from an old microwave transformer, basically a high voltage source, using this he proceeded to burn some interesting patterns into a piece of wood. "That would look great on a bowl" said I, and thus, some months later, I made a nice shaped blank from a piece of Alder, and we set to, "electrocuting" it! Then, taking it home, I remounted it and set to work creating a new bowl of a very different look.

The exterior finish is proXL lacquer, the interior and rim is shellac. Finish is high gloss all over.
 
That's a spectacular effort on many levels Kim, the inotive technique and superb finish as usual without even delving into details of form.
