I like these two because they are quiet, and not too expensive, the Axminster TS-200-2 is £350, theMetabo TKHS 315 C is £250. Which one would you suggest?

The Metabo is a site saw, pressed steel table and rudimentary fence. The Axminster has a cast iron top and can be fitted with proper fences. The Metabo has a greater depth of cut and a more powerful motor. The Axminster will be more accurate.

For cabinet work and general workshop use Axminster wins hand down but the Metabo would be better for site work. So it depends what your primary use would be.

Whichever you get you'll probably need a better blade or two.

Thanks Roger. Do you think you can use better fence on the metabo, for example the ProGrip Aluminium Bandsaw Fence. And what are the best blade for 60mm thick maple?

Hi there, just wanted to say that ive had the metabo for years and can say the fence is not all that good. Im forever re adjusting it to be square (ish) to the blade. The steel table is no where near flat either. Its only good for site work as its designed for. Definitely get the axminster or better.

Axminster hands down. Mk2 has the better fence. As previously said these 2 are completely different animals. Spending the extra 100 on the Axminster gets you a cast iron top & induction motor - well worth it.
