I have had tools and collected bits and bobs, you know, things that might come in one day but never use, stored in an old chest of drawers in my shed for years.
Anyway I've had a sort out and done away with the drawers because they were starting to fall apart so I broke them up and thought I could salvage some of the wood .
What I want to know is, can anyone identify what wood it is because I don't have a clue.

All answers appreciated.

Top two pics look like ash, maybe oak. The bottom one looks like possibly cherry.

NEXT QUESTION!!!!

I know they won't be needed yet but with the wood I want to make my 2 new granddaughters jewellery boxes.
What would be the best finish for them, oil, lacquer or whatever?

Sand to 180 and id use liberon clear wax. They're new formula is really easy to apply. Unless of course you want to go darker then they have a nice selection.
