That's very clever. Matthias Wandel and this fellow are very talented woodworking. If you don't want to build this, then look for MW and his wooden band saw. (Well obviously the blade isn't wood, that would be silly! (Wouldn't it?)

I think his videos are great, along with John Heisz and Matthias Wandel. The amount of stuff they make is quite something.

I like izzy's $50 workshop series which is starting back up so you can make some projects with minimal tools and sell the stuff to help kit out the shop some more, it is a good idea in principle.
