Hi,

I have not used these exact models but I have used the predecessors which I think are very similar. For what they are, I found them to be great and would recommend. As long as you are sure you only want to do small stuff then go for it. Some of the other mini lathes are underpowered but 500w is plenty for a mini lathe. The variable speed one was also on sale recently and this would have been my pick as I am lazy and changing pulleys is a faff.

My experience was that these are smooth, quite running machines. I only used them a few times, local turning club had a couple of them.

I considered one myself for demos as my main lathe is a bit bit to lug about....

You can pick u a used Myford Ml8 for that sort of money I would have thought that was a better way to go and you could probably sell for what you paid for it in a couple of years .
