Hi,
Glad to have found this forum. I've just acquired a Whitehead Junior TJ Thicknesser Planer. The identifying plate on the motor is missing. Does anyone know what horsepower it would be? It's a 12"x4".
Thanks,
Jimmy

Thanks, yes it looks 2 or 3 HP. Trouble is, I need to know the exact HP to get the right inverter for it.... Any other suggestions?
Thanks again,
Jimmy

Well the easy answer is to get a 3hp one and configure it to what you have when you run it

but 2 hp is so much cheaper theres no way round short of running your motor under load on a 3 phase supply and measuring current drawn

even another owner of the same PT may have a different motor on it

Buy or borrow a 1.5kw inverter and see how it goes...if your motor is 2.2kw it will only overload and switch off
