To you, it is a cheaply made box, to the purchaser it is a solution to an untidy desk. It is probably quite reasonable to a non woodworker who has no idea of the technicalities.

Also, the maker is probably selling it for about a tenner, but tax and the retailers margin take the lions share.

(but I agree, the actual makers will be getting pennies)

Start knocking them out from reclaimed timber, and he could double the price 8)
