Whatever you call it, I wanted a traditional desk for my new study. Also wanted something to pass the 5 months waiting to complete.

Took all the draw fronts back to bare, replaced the beading with something more interesting. The pedastool and top was just a key up with a pad, other than the top that sits round the leather as I wanted that super smooth so that went back to bare.

I ordered a replacement top without the gold detail and the guy messed up, but he gave me half the price back so only cost £50!

Antique brass hardware finished it off, in my opinion the handles are slightly too big but they were low cost and I spent less than £200 all in for this desk including Farrow and Ball paint

Done yourself an injustice calling that a tart up or upcycling as I understand the word Leon. Nice job.

Thank you! The result has led to the missus allowing a bigger budget for tools for my new garage

Excellent work there, very nice, great colour too - and you earned a Brucie Bonus to boot! I've seen co called "professionals" do a worse job than that.

Thanks for the kind words, I was a painter by trade many years ago but the decorative bits and leather replacement were all new to me. F&B Railings is the colour, looks really good. Doesn't half cover well too, I bought a 2.5ltr tub and still have 90% of it left!
