Sanding on Poplar

Hi I have applied a coat of Osmo polyX oil/wax on a bench I've made.
It's like a poly-urethane.

I sanded with just 100 grit before hand.
The finish feels fuzzy,

Can I sand down now with a finer paper and just leave it.
Or do I sand down and apply another coat?

Would a wax help?

Work bench or seating bench?

Work bench, leave it, you don't want it too slick.

Seating bench, sand down with 150/180 grit, then again with 220/240 grit, then re-coat with three coats of Osmo. I'm all for avoiding sanding down to pointlessly fine grits, but 100 grit is just too coarse for furniture and besides, Poplar is a tight grained timber capable of delivering a very smooth finish.

I'm so used to working with old reclaimed woods where you can get away with a rough sand!
Ok, I'll start with some finer papers and give another coat or two.

Can I just check Graham, are you sanding by hand with a block or using a ROS?
