Just completed: a spokeshave in padauk with brass sole plate and knob. The iron is 1 1/2" wide x 1/8" thick O1 steel.

That's a lovely piece of work. Any problems with the blade wanting to twist with the single point of fixing?
 
Thanks guys. I am going to try it today and I'll report later on how it works. The iron seems to be well clamped in place but we shall see ......
 
Nice shave! their are plenty of single fixing spoke-shaves about so I don't think it will be a problem.

Thanks Pete. I tried it today on a hatchet handle and it worked well.
