I'm sure they will turn out fine, Olly - post some pics when you're done
Cheers

I, too, received a Pedder Dovetail saw as my Secret Santa pressie - it is awesome, and I'm thrilled with it!
Glad to see you're keeping up the good work,
Best regards

Well, since you asked for a photo:
I finished these off yesterday and this is how they were looking after the first coat of Danish oil. Once I've finished polishing, I'll take another photo of the one I choose to fit to the saw (I already know which one that'll be... ).
They're made from brown oak. Not a traditional choice but, I didn't have any beech offcuts the right size. I've got some nice English walnut at college and I'll try and save some of that for my final handle at a later date.
I was right to make a spare one though...
My marking out and drilling on one of them wasn't quite as perfect as I had hoped. Please ignore the slight difference in shape between the two handles - the Gramercy template wasn't a perfect match for my Atkinson Walker saw and I don't have a rasp small enough for some of the finer detailing so, I had to botch it a bit!

Whoops that hole looked very close to the edge!
I made a couple of Gramercy kit saws but found the handles were more comfortable with more rounding off:
Here's one I did for a cheapo Crown Dovetail:
Sorry about image size.

In the time it took to apologise you could have made them smaller!

Bugbear - please tell me how - I would be most grateful?
The images were transferred to Imageshack when Sony closed down their facility.
I can define the size when loading new ones up, but don't seem to be able to alter the image size when they are already there?
Finding my old originals, resizing them from RAW etc. would take a lot longer time?

I assumed it was a newly created image ;-(
It appears that imageshack doesn't support the multi-size thing that flickr does (where you can select almost-any-size, any time).
Sadly, in your case, I think the quickest thing to do (should you want to) is to DOWNLOAD your own image from imageshack, and then either resize(on your desktop) and upload, or resize-on-upload (using imageshack's options).

Hmmm very nice indeed...
I want one... (Not the same as needing one). A cross-cut for tenon shoulders, and such. With a decent depth of cut though.
A special Gent's saw would be nice too Pedder!
Regards
