Have some 18mm raw bolts to fix it to the floor , but will have to go and hire a big mother of a drill to do the holes  as my 18volt Bosch will not be up to the job :p

so drill holes , position lathe over holes and bolt it down tomorrow and it should be " Jobs a goodun "

 :tool: :tool:

Shes a Beauty ;-)

i've never been up close to one - what hight is the centre ? - looks high, but its probably just the photo perspective.

Can't wait to see some pics of it at work !

Looking good Allen. :D
The workshop looks to be nice and bright.
Is that the final resting place for the VB :?:
Just wondering if it is that you have enough room behind for the tool rest beam :?

Loz , Hegners do this lathe in " High : or " Low " my one is the high version , the difference between them is 3" , I will measure the floor to spindle center tomorrow , resting my back now :p

Paul , no its not in its final position yet , as you say it needs to be moved away from the wall to gain an amount of room , for the tool rest post , and for getting shavings out and a extractor pipe up the back as well

I cant wait to have a go , not turned anything for over a year due to dad and the bike accident  :p

Steve

Well yes sort of

The Lathe came from Cradley Heath :p

and the Standard bed assembly came from David Cummerford in Ireland ,

Hence the Visit to our very own Boysie39 a couple of months back

 I want one

Maybe Mrs. JT has me one for me xmas stocking

Looks like a proper bit of kit Blister, look forward to seeing some monster turnings(like the little pic you posted) from it.

It looks lovely Allen. I'd not thought to look at the spindle height last time I was at yours. It does look high. I was turning bottle stoppers today and halfway through realised how much I was hunched over. Need to get it up on some blocks after the op.

If you're about on the weekend, I might pop 'round to see it commissioned. Could do with getting out of this bloody house :D
