I'm sure I've seen the design in a popular maths book somewhere (Ian Stewart maybe?) but not come across it as a commercial product. Who makes it? Are you laying it in your own house? Can we see some more photos?!
 
could make a great table top for the right room- childrens play room etc.
 
how difficult would it be out of 10 to cut these? I know on this floor there are an awful lot, but to do enough to cover a box lid wouldnt need that many i wouldnt think, all be them a bit smaller. The advantage is that there are no internal cuts, so a cheap scroll saw would not be penalised like it otherwise might.

I think it looks fantastic, particularly if using a few different timbers. Stack cutting veneer would, i guess, be another option.
