    Rehanging hardwood stuck patio doors

Is it a multipoint locking system? May be the bottom section into the cill has jumped off the rest. Other thing to consider is that the doors were hung too low. Cheers, Andy

    Refurbishing an old drill press

Rods travelling too far, could it be you need a shorter drive belt ? Cheers, Andy

    Attaching Sash cords

It's a good tip to keep the woodwork narrower than the cleat thus giving a buttress for it to rest against. Also below the cleat I drill down into the end grain with a long drill of suitable clearance to push the cord tail down into, this stops it accidentally getting jammed between sash and...

    Attaching Sash cords

These are the ones I use. Repeatedly getting the cord through is easier if you bind the end with a strip of gaffer tape. https://www.reddiseals.com/product/sash-cord-cleat/ Cheers, Andy

New makita 5041 ROS crackling sound- normal or defective?

We do, they're called suppliers and they no longer carry out the required quality control as we are forced to provide them, at our inconvenience, with that service for free..... Andy

    Gazebo

I reckon it could be water getting in and getting trapped behind the varnish resulting in the first stages of rot. Cheers, Andy

Attaching 12mm pipe at right angles.

A 12 mm hole in the side of 12 mm pipe ? Sounds like a job for a 12 mm end mill in an engineering quality boring machine, then you can attach the arms with a suitable solder/brazing. Or as suggested above, side mill the ends of the tube with the appropriate 12 mm cutter then once again...

Severe wet rot problem on older 5x3 single garage. Is this salvageable?

I think I'd loose the slabs and get it gravelled for starters. Cheers, Andy

    Worry about kitchen cabinet weight

Just made me laugh remembering the time an apprentice sparky was using an SDS chisel to chop in a back box on a strammit wall... Luckily he did manage it but shouldn't have used the 2 inch screws..... Cheers, Andy

    Worry about kitchen cabinet weight

If I remember rightly there is one each side inside the cupboard and all the weight is pulling down and away from the brackets you show. So with this in mind the screws are only ever been drawn sideways and thus further embedding the thread into the chipboard. To a certain extent it's similar in...

    levelling a Lurem Former 310

Well, someone who wants to do it is always a good starting point in my book. I dare say it would have been a spare part that wasn't a special order from Lurem and as you know they are no more. Cheers, Andy

    levelling a Lurem Former 310

I feel for you, that's not a happy sight to see, I hope that it's just the mounting that's damaged and not as you say, the cutter block. No idea if spares are available and unless you get the right person I think it's a really tricky repair. Do you know any engineers who could help you out? If...

    levelling a Lurem Former 310

Perhaps the fastenings that hold one side of the cutter block have worked loose and debris has worked its way under ? Cheers, Andy
