    Joke Thread 4

Sapphires can crack in an ultrasonic. Not too surprise there was no F’ in sapphire when you got it.

Car tax / road fund licence

The first answer was correct so no more debate was needed but it seemed a shame to waste a perfectly good starter for another 100+ thread.

Car tax / road fund licence

Not at all. The incorrect terms are often used in a disingenuous manner. I didn’t want the OP to inadvertently fall into the mode you so often step willingly in to when debating road use.

Car tax / road fund licence

Do you mean Vehicle Excise Duty? Neither of the things you mentioned exist.

    Wanted Spill plane. Solved.

I’m about to catch a train to the airport but if you haven’t found one by next week I’ll send you mine.

    Wanted Spill plane. Solved.

Incredibly easy to make. I made one when we had an open fire.

Little & Large of Yankees - lucky find.

I’ve got a couple but hardly ever use them. They got used a lot before I got drill drivers. Got some Robertson bits with mine when I was in Canada. I do use a push drill quite often though for pre drilling screw holes for picture mounting hardware.

    TYZACK Backsaw Heresy?

Yes all in use. I’ve sharpened my own saws for the last 40 years. There is a selection of rip and cross cut of various tpi in the rack. The shiney tennon saw in the middle is a new addition recently purchased from here. The two on the right are also modern LN saws but I’ve had those for 20...

It was remarkable stable in a straight line. Completely different story in the curves.

    TYZACK Backsaw Heresy?

Turns out I’ve got a steel backed one that looks pretty much identical. This was my great grandfathers. It’s in my user rack. This is my rack. They all see a fair bit of use

I think we have all been there in one way or another. My V8 Mustang convertible suffered this fate.

    Cars that make you smile

Before I got my car license I had a couple of Bond Bugs. One was a tuned 750 with a top speed over 100mph. More recently a Smart Brabus Roadster. What a fun drive that was. And of course my favourite of all time my Defender 110. Always have a smile on my face driving that. It’s gone for nine...

    Cars - Form over function

The number of times I have got in the Landrover, turned the key and lurched towards the fence is directly related to the number of times my wife last drove it. I leave it in gear on slopes but not usually on the drive.

    Cars - Form over function

Dacia seem to fit this market and do very well.
