The top blade clamp is incomplete, the Quickset blade clamping system is what makes it a cut above the rest. That's why it's cheap and no bids. I would only consider buying it for spares.
I've been sharpening my turning tools on a Record 6" grinder fitted with a white and a pink stone for nearly 30 years and have never had the money or inclination to change.
If I was to recommend a scroll saw it would be either a Delta 40-540 or 40-560 type 2 both fitted with the Quickset blade clamps. I've have owned both for over 25 years and they're both still working. Unfortunately they are now only available second hand. As for sanding the side of the wood...
The only people who notice and comment on chucking points are other woodturners, non woodturners don't give a rats buttocks about chucking points, they either like/dislike the piece, whether or not it has the chucking point.
Re-positional spray glue, onto the back of the paper. There are several brands available, I'm currently using the purple can from Crafters Companion. Any little residue that remains comes off with a light sanding.
I "borrowed " one of the dogs squeaky toys, popped the squeaker out pushed the pipe into the hole and then hot melt glued it under the bottom arm. Works a treat.
