    Which Airless Sprayer?

I bought an Earlex HV5000 from Screwfix circa 2012 and am pleased with the finish I was able to achieve using 2-pack Morrels, super easy to use and clean etc. I did have to buy a smaller needle and jet from the default supplied, however the default jet would have been fine for emulsion type...

    Joke Thread 4

I remember years ago whilst on a long business trip in Alabama visiting one morning a local supermarket to get much needed supplies to curb the effects of a severe hangover, at the checkout as I handed over my payment the lady serving me gave me the customary 'Now y'all have a nice day!' in the...

Startrite t30 Spindle moulder 240v advice please :-)

Ah you are correct I mistook the phase # for the kw rating when in fact that is blank -apologies! I don't know what else to suggest, I guess you'll find out when you pick it up..

Startrite t30 Spindle moulder 240v advice please :-)

A quick google peruse of single phase T30's show them with 16A plugs attached, and given that most machine plates show it as being 1KW rated then I deduce that it's only startup current that might be high given the inertia of the spindle itself + some large cutter block...

Disposing of workshop contents, advice wanted

Thanks for your replies, I thought somewhere in that ballpark was about right. I've already given a heads-up to my local men's shed and they are taking 1st dibs on the machines albeit they are pretty well stocked themselves, but I'll end up with a lot of hand tools that they won't want so will...

Disposing of workshop contents, advice wanted

Due to some medical issues I am selling off my 4x5m workshop contents and am in the process of sorting out the inside and collating and pricing items some of which will go onto the sale board on this forum. I have an external but covered wood store with 2-2.5m lengths of sawn stock some Sapele...

    PC & Printer Internet Problems

To be fair MS does contain a lot of click-bait these days and a lot are aimed at migrating your data to their OneDrive offering which often breaks some stuff, and as is human nature for most folk who are using their device to access mail or some other task, when these interruptions present...

    Log Cabin Workshop 3.5m x 4.5m

Upon reflection a piece of plastic DPC would do the trick albeit I'm unsure how UV resistant that might be, but you have lots of options

    Log Cabin Workshop 3.5m x 4.5m

Hi @BCS1980UK looks like a cracking good workshop! Only point I'd make is in the photo you posted showing the outside painted green it looks to me as though a small portion of the over-site projects beyond the base of the timber structure - on the right and so you may get pooling of rainwater...

    PC & Printer Internet Problems

Stuart, I hate to say this however you the end user undoubtedly clicked on some Microshaft pop-up that initiated the move of all your data to Microsoft's cloud services.. My brother in-law called recently with similar, he said - my email (which I host) has stopped working and all my Desktop...

    Cars that make you smile

The car I most fondly remember was a banana yellow Dolomite Sprint I bought with ~25k on the clock and despite it having a hard life - after sorting out it's poor handling with some Bilstein shocks all round I caned it remorselessly for the rest of its life and eventually took it down a local...

    Cars that make you smile

Haha - I had a MK4 Midget and the road handling was not its strong point, nor was it's performance until I put a tuned cam and Janspeed exhaust, 1-1/2 SU's etc on it. As you mention the cornering especially in the wet was dire, not helped by the amount of flex in the body - did you ever try to...
